Finally, a comedy, romance, western, supernatural genre all wrapped in one! Wait, what? Sounds a little weird at first, sure, but the show is surprisingly good. Not just a series for the LGBT community, either! There&#39;s most definitely at least one character everyone can relate to in this incredible show. Powerhouse performances from the cast, especially the ladies of the show (Scrofano, Provost-Chalkley, Barrell), and the soundtrack is AWESOME. What do Jessica Jones and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have in common? They were FUN - and their protagonists were smart, sassy, and REAL. Wynonna Earp follows In the same tradition, making TV instantly fun again. In a time when most TV producers and writers are using female characters simplyfiller oreye-candy, Emily gives a giant middle finger to that (possibly while riding away on her Harley). Her main heroine is Wynonna, a broken soul who must return to her hometown to face her demons (literally and figuratively). Now this is a girl I can get behind. She is smart, sassy, and unpredictable. She is strong but vulnerable, courageous but scared, confident but unsure. She has a chip on her shoulderbigthe Grand Canyon and a heart even bigger. She is not afraid to stand on her own two feet, but also knows when to accept a hand -or a hug. In reality, she mirrors the forces inside of us all - constantly at war, constantly in ebb and flow with each other. In short, she is every woman I know.<br/><br/>I love that this strong, heroic, sassy female character exists on TV now. This is the kind of female character that I want my daughter to see. I want her to know that it is okay to speak up, okay to be the boss, and okay to be scared all at the same time. It is also the female character I want my sons to seewell - so they will grow up with the knowledge that women are strong, tender, and heroic. That you do not have to compete with them, or push them down, or belittle them to be a strong, competent man yourself. That there is a fight and a strength and a hero in us all - regardless of our gender. <br/><br/>OK - besides all of that - it has motorcycles, guns, demons, fun witty dialogue, and unforgettable characters that leap off the screen. In just the first two episodes alone you get a glimpse of a myriad of relationships that I am very excited to follow - sister relationships, friendships, LGBT relationships, sexual relationships, evil relationships - you name it! <br/><br/>Do yourself a favor and watch this show - watch the first 3 episodes and I DARE you not to fall in love with Wynonna Earp.
